Xavier will celebrate Founder’s Week from Dec. 14-18. This year’s activities are a collaborative effort involving the Ryken Service Society, Peer Ministry, and SAC, said Director of Campus Ministry Peter Lyons.
Founders Week is a time when we honor the legacy of Theodore James Ryken, the founder of the Xaverian Brothers, as well as St. Francis Xavier, for whom the congregation is named. We also honor the values of being a Xaverian Brothers Sponsored School, and all the Brothers and lay faculty and staff that carry on the mission.
Prayer each morning will reflect the Xaverian Value of the Day. There will be a special prayer intention for each day.
During lunch waves, students will be invited to answer the question: “What does the Xaverian Value of the Day mean to you?” The best answer for each day will win a prize. There will be an e-mail option for virtual students.
St. Francis Xavier prayer cards will be hidden throughout the building. They can be redeemed for free French Fries in the dining hall.
Each day, one student and one faculty/staff member will be recognized for exhibiting the Xaverian Value of the Day.
