The Empower Leadership Club has chosen Aidan Muldoon '22 as the February Leader of the Month.
“Aidan is best known for his remarkable effort on the robotics team,” says his winning nomination. “Through his work, he has shown an outstanding passion and talent for engineering. On top of that, he shows aspects of a great leader … he makes sure to not only teach but motivate and hold others accountable within the team.”
Muldoon has helped lead Xavier to various robotics awards this season. But it does not stop there.
“He extends his passion for robotics to the local community with the robotics team’s outreach program, through which he spreads knowledge of STEM to younger students outside of high school. On top of all the time and effort that Aidan pours into the robotics team, he still holds himself to the highest academic standards in the classroom. Furthermore, he takes the time to continually help out the community in other ways besides his outreach work with robotics. Just recently, he has been recognized for having over 100 hours of community service logged. It is clear that Aidan tackles all of the work thrown at him with unwavering diligence.
“It is through his achievements (those recognized and even those left unrecognized) and his humble nature that Aidan exemplifies what it means to be a Xaverian student.”
Muldoon has not yet decided on a college but is planning to concentrate on mechanical engineering.
When he joined robotics as a freshman the program was growing in numbers, but there was only one team.
“Now we have five teams and a lot more hands-on work,” Muldoon said. “Everyone can get involved.”
