What was the best Xavier moment in the Southern Connecticut Conference this year?
Was it Cross Country winning the program's seventh straight league title? Or how about the Wrestling team following up its best season ever by nearly duplicating this year? And we can't forget the third moment, our Track and Field team winning indoor and outdoor state titles for the first time in 25 years.
It was great year for the Southern Connecticut Conference, but it might have been an even better year for the Xavier Athletics Department.
Maybe even the best in school history.

Here are just some of the facts from the 2022-2023 school year beyond those three highlights:
- 5 State Championships
- 5 SCC Championships
- 25 SCC Individual Champions
- 6 All-Americans
- 1 National Champion
- 1 Academic All-American
- 7 All-New England Athletes
- 36 All-State Athletes
- 59 All-SCC Athletes
As we look back on another spectacular run (remember last year's haul of four state championships?), those three Xavier teams are featured in the annual SCC "Best of" Contest. Who should you vote for this year? That choice belongs to the voter. But it is exciting to see Xavier Cross Country, Xavier Wrestling and Xavier Track and Field all highlighted with the other top moments of the season.
Each of three teams left behind a legacy that the school will remember for years to come. And their achievements were unique and impressive. Here's to honoring one of them with another SCC crown and bringing home another title to Randolph Road!
