Dear Xavier Families,

I hope this email finds you well as we embark on another exciting school year! It was wonderful to formally welcome the Class of 2028 on Thursday during Falcon Blast. This special event marked the beginning of their journey at Xavier, where they will build strong bonds of brotherhood that will last a lifetime.

Earlier today, our faculty and staff gathered for a fun and engaging team-building event at Sonny's Place in Somers. The energy and enthusiasm from this experience have left us all refreshed and ready to support your sons as they grow academically, spiritually, and personally throughout the year.

We are thrilled to partner with you in your son’s educational journey and look forward to a fantastic year ahead!

I'm also excited to share that our Xaverian Value for the year is Zeal. As described in Partners in Mission:

Zeal is the joyful and enthusiastic commitment to the mission of the church which God has entrusted to us. We imitate St. Francis Xavier as we give ourselves wholeheartedly to the work of evangelization, in word and deed.

Zeal enables us to share God's love as nourishment for others, as bread that is broken through a life of gospel service. Zeal unifies the Xaverian Brothers Sponsored School community in single-minded devotion and intense passion for the formation of the whole person, bringing about the more abundant life proclaimed by Jesus Christ.

- Parents: Your sons have been reminded of our hair and grooming policy. If your son is in need of a haircut, please make sure he has it taken care of prior to their orientation next week. Failure to do so will result in detention. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

- Secondary dress code begins on the first day of classes for all students (Sept. 3). All student forms are due on the first day of classes (Sept. 3). Students should report in standard dress code (shirt and tie) for their orientation.

- The Alumni Golf Classic is Friday, Sept. 6! The tournament is full. All proceeds go to financial aid for Xavier students. Check our social media channels for pictures and videos from the event.

- Parents of Juniors & Seniors: Xavier Upperclassmen have been invited to attend an Open House at the Connecticut Forensic Science Laboratory in Meriden to start National Forensic Science week on September 13. Students should RSVP to Mrs. Braychak. The first 15 students interested in careers in criminal justice or forensic science that RSVP will be bussed to the event. For more information, students should speak to their School Counselor.

- Our annual Grandparents Mass is Sunday, Sept. 8, at 10 a.m., in Kohs Gymnasium! This opening of school event is for the entire Xavier community. You do not have to be a grandparent or have a grandparent in your party to attend. All faith traditions are invited. There will be a reception in the Dining Hall, and school tours led by Xavier students starting at 11:00 am.

- Parents of Fall Athletes: This is a reminder to parents that Student-Athletes must be in school for the day in order to participate in their practices or contests. If your son is absent from school, they are not allowed to attend practice or games unless they receive permission from Mr. Cerreta. Any athlete who is found in violation of this policy will be immediately sent home from their event and face additional school consequences. Additionally, athletes who are arriving late or leaving early, must be present for 5 full class periods in order to be eligible for athletics.

- Parents of Fall Athletes: Reminder that parent pick up after practices/games should be in the back of the school and not along the side of the building.  Parents must stay our of the bus pick up/drop off lane.

- Senior Parents - The Senior Parent College Night will be held at Xavier on Sept. 12 at 6:30 pm.

- Lino's Cafe is excited to announce that their computer systems have been upgraded to offer a more efficient and parent-friendly interface. Please note one important change: you no longer need to add the letters "XH" in front of the student ID. The student ID should now be entered as a seven-digit number, which will enable you to successfully create or manage the account. For students with existing accounts, there is no need to create a new account. Everything remains as it was, and you can continue using the system as before.

Have a great weekend.

God Bless
