Dear Xavier Families,
Earlier today, we paused to celebrate the extraordinary efforts of our students in the classroom. It is a point of pride for this community. During the first term, 406 students earned a spot on the honor roll, with 199 of those achieving high honors. These numbers represent more than grades; they stand for perseverance, commitment, and the drive to be better every single day. I see it constantly in the quiet focus during study halls, the spirited discussions in class, and the way they carry themselves in the hallways. Days like today remind us all why we are here, to guide these young men as they push themselves to new heights. They make me proud to lead Xavier.
On Monday, we joined the nation in honoring Veterans Day, a moment to reflect on the courage and sacrifice of those who have served our country. Here at Xavier, we are fortunate to count among our own Mr. Dan Cizauskas, our Director of Finance. Before joining Xavier more than 25 years ago, Mr. Cizauskas served as a Petty Officer aboard the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy. His story is one of honor, integrity, and service, qualities we strive to instill in every young man who walks through our doors.
This week also brought more exciting news. Niche.com ranked Xavier as the second-best high school in Connecticut for student-athletes. Among Catholic, private, and all-boys schools, we stand alone at the top. This is more than a statistic. It is a reflection of decades of grit, discipline, and heart. It is the legacy of offseason training, late-night bus rides, and moments of triumph that echo through the years. Xavier is not just a place for athletes. It is a home for champions. And this Sunday, our soccer team will play for a State title! The Falcons will face Farmington at 6:15 pm at Trinity Health Stadium in Hartford. We wish the best of luck to Coach Fitzgerald and the boys.
Thank you for your continued support as we guide and celebrate these young men. Together, we are shaping a future filled with promise.
I wanted to share this passage from our XBSS Partners in Mission document:
"Compassion is the tenderness of heart which is capable of seeing and hearing the needs of all, near and far. We are called to stand with one another in difficulties, supporting and encouraging all of our brothers and sisters, especially the poor, weak, and oppressed, for they too are called to experience and share the love of God with and through us."
Here are this week's updates and announcements...
