Dear Xavier Families,
This week at Xavier, we witnessed the Class of 2028 take another step into the heart of what it means to be a Falcon. On Wednesday, our freshman retreat offered a chance for these young men to reflect, connect, and grow. Peer ministers shared their stories, stories that were as moving as they were inspiring, inviting the freshmen into the rich traditions and values that define Xavier High School.
At the end of the day, each freshman received an affirmation bag from their Big Falcon. Inside were handwritten notes from faculty, staff, and their Big Falcons, reminding them just how much they matter to our community. It was a simple gesture, yet one that spoke volumes about the love and support that surrounds them here.
On Tuesday, we hosted a blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross. True to form, the Xavier community rose to the occasion. Students, faculty, and staff came together, and the result was remarkable, 54 units of blood collected, a testament to the generosity and compassion that thrive within these walls.
And the spotlight turns to the stage this weekend as the Mercy/Xavier Drama Club presents 12 Angry Jurors. Performances will take place at Mercy on Friday and Saturday evening at 7 p.m. The buzz has already started. Staff and students who attended the dress rehearsal on Wednesday couldn’t stop talking about the talent, the energy, and the hard work on display. If you have a chance, don’t miss this incredible production.
Every week at Xavier is filled with moments that remind us of the strength and spirit of our community. Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
Thank you for your continued support as we guide and celebrate these young men. Together, we are shaping a future filled with promise.
I wanted to share this passage from our XBSS Partners in Mission document:
"Compassion compels us in a Xaverian Brothers Sponsored School community to look at life through the eyes of Christ, to encounter those who suffer, to accompany them, and to seek appropriate action to alleviate hardship. This allows us to be the eyes, the ears, and the hands of the loving God."
