Dear Xavier Families,
Although this was a short week, it was action-packed as our students, faculty, and staff continue working hard with the first marking term nearing its close.
This Sunday, we host our biggest enrollment event of the year - Open House! We are excited to welcome prospective families to campus and meet future Falcons. With no school on Monday, October 21, we are expecting a large turnout of our current students to help facilitate tours and showcase our community. Their participation truly makes a difference, and we're grateful for their commitment to supporting this important day.
Studies show that the number one reason families consider sending their sons to Catholic school isn't an ad, a brochure, or a billboard. It's you! It's the conversations you have with friends and neighbors. It's the stories you tell about what Xavier has meant for your son. Please keep spreading the word, far and wide. Together, we can continue building this community, one relationship at a time.
On Wednesday, our cross country team captured its ninth straight SCC title, a remarkable achievement. Four of our Falcons earned First Team All-SCC honors, a testament to their hard work and dedication. That same evening, we held our Fall National Honor Society Induction Ceremony, celebrating the outstanding academic achievements of our students. It was a special night to acknowledge their efforts in the classroom.
Finally, a reminder about the Walk-A-Thon fundraising efforts. We are currently behind our usual pace for this point in the campaign, and participation from all students is crucial. This is our only student-driven fundraiser of the year, and we need everyone's effort to make it a success. Those students who do not participate in the fundraiser will be asked to come in the day after the Super Bowl to complete service hours. This is to show their support to the school community. Please note: This is not a consequence of not reaching the $150 personal goal, but rather an opportunity to contribute in a different manner other than fundraising to the betterment of Xavier High School. Encourage your sons to set up their pages and share them with family, friends, and neighbors via social media.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our students and the Xavier community. We look forward to another great week ahead!
I wanted to share this passage from our XBSS Partners in Mission document:
"Zeal is the joyful and enthusiastic commitment to the mission of the Catholic Church which God has entrusted to us. We imitate St. Francis Xavier as we give ourselves wholeheartedly to the work of evangelization, in word and deed."
