Xavier High School Parent Weekly Newsletter - April 4

Dear Xavier Families,

This week was one marked by camaraderie, school spirit, and the unmistakable energy that fills our halls when the Xavier brotherhood comes together as one.

Spirit Week brought a new theme each day, and with it, a renewed sense of unity and joy. The week ended with our annual Intramural Basketball Championship during first period this morning. In front of the entire school, Shake and Bake took home this year’s title in a thrilling contest. The cheers echoed off the walls and reminded all of us that this community is something truly special.

Our mission of service was also on full display. I am deeply grateful to everyone who donated clothing to our Salvation Army drive. Seeing the donation bins overflowing was a wonderful reminder of the generosity that lives within our community. As we continue our toiletry drive, I encourage everyone to take part. Small acts of giving have a ripple effect far beyond our campus.

This week also brought moments of well-earned recognition. Four of our seniors were honored at two separate events. Caleb Todzia and Joshua Reichard received the 2025 Connecticut Association of Schools Outstanding Arts Award for their excellence and creativity, while Daniel Fischer and Jimmy Schafer were named SCC Scholar Leaders for their strong achievements in academics and leadership.

Congratulations to these young men, and thank you to every parent, guardian, and family member for the role you play in shaping the hearts and minds of our students. Xavier is only as strong as the people who believe in it, and we are stronger than ever.

On Tuesday, April 1, we celebrated the birthday of Brother Philip Revell, C.F.X. Many members of our community sent him cards and well wishes, and we also shared a heartfelt video message to mark the occasion. Brother Philip wrote back to let us know he has finished his course of chemotherapy and will soon begin a round of radiotherapy sessions. He remains deeply grateful for the support, prayers, and love from his Xavier family.

On Thursday evening, I traveled to New York City with members of our Alumni and Development team for a Xavier alumni social. It was a wonderful evening filled with laughter, connection, and shared memories. Whether graduates left campus five years ago or fifty, the brotherhood remains alive and well. The strength of our Xavier bonds continues to shine through in every city and season.

Lastly, we invite all members of the Xavier community to join us on Friday, April 11 at 1:30 PM for a special tree dedication ceremony in honor of Brother Thomas Ryan, C.F.X. This gathering will be a moment to remember and celebrate the life of a man who gave so much to this school and its students. All are welcome to attend as we reflect on his lasting legacy.

Wishing you a restful and blessed weekend.
