Dear Xavier Families,
As we move through February, I want to remind you that there will be no school on Friday, February 14, Monday, February 17, and Tuesday, February 18. We hope all of our students and families enjoy the brief break and return refreshed and ready for the weeks ahead.
This past Wednesday evening, we invited more than 175 families who have been accepted to the Class of 2029 for our annual Parent Night. It was an incredible evening filled with excitement and anticipation for the next generation of Xavier students. I was honored to stand before these future Xavier families and address them for the first time as President of our great school. The energy in the room was palpable, a testament to the enduring spirit of our community and the bright future ahead.
I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Student Activities Council for organizing a special treat during Wednesday's lunch waves. Students, faculty, and staff enjoyed cake and hot chocolate as we celebrated my appointment as President. Their thoughtful efforts helped create a wonderful moment of joy and camaraderie. It is through these small but meaningful gestures that our community spirit continues to grow stronger.
I also want to express my sincere gratitude to the Home and School Association for treating our faculty and staff to a warm and welcoming spread of chili, treats, and prizes on Wednesday. Their generosity and dedication to our school do not go unnoticed, and their efforts are a true embodiment of our Xaverian values. I am especially looking forward to the Home and School Association Black & White Auction on March 22, which promises to be a fantastic evening in support of our school and students.
As one tradition begins, another continues. This Saturday morning, 20 students and four faculty and staff members will embark on our annual service trip to Guatemala. Over the next week, they will build two houses, work at a children's Bible school, visit Kairos Christian School, and deliver groceries to families in need. This experience will be one of service, humility, and faith in action. Please keep them in your prayers for safe travels and a meaningful and productive trip.
I wanted to share this passage from our XBSS Partners in Mission document:
“All are created by the God of love in His image and according to His likeness to be a unique expression of that love.”
