Dear Xavier Families,
As we head into a long weekend, let us take a moment to reflect on the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. His profound impact on the Civil Rights movement reminds us of the power of courage, compassion, and justice in shaping a better world. May his example inspire us to continue striving for equality and understanding in our communities.
This past Tuesday, we were thrilled to host our 8th Grade Honors Night, welcoming a group of exceptional eighth-grade honors students to campus. It was inspiring to see so many talented young individuals, and we look forward to welcoming many of them into the Class of 2029. This is an important time for eighth-grade families as they decide on the next step in their child’s educational journey. We remain optimistic that our incoming freshman class will be one of the largest yet, a testament to the strength of our Xavier community.
We also wanted to share a health update on Brother Philip Revell, C.F.X. Brother Philip continues to receive treatment in Massachusetts. He's responding well and showing signs of improvement. It still remains Brother's hope and ours that he will return to Xavier down the road. Please continue to keep him in your prayers as he works toward recovery.
Earlier today, the energy on campus was electric as we held our Winter Sports Pep Rally. It was a great celebration of school spirit and a chance to recognize the hard work and dedication of our winter athletes. Our teams are off to a strong start, and we’re excited to see what they accomplish in the weeks ahead.
Enjoy the long weekend and thank you for being part of the Xavier family.
I wanted to share this passage from our XBSS Partners in Mission document:
“The Spirit is calling us, as Xaverian Brothers Sponsored Schools, to form school communities in the spiritual values of compassion, humility, simplicity, zeal, and trust: a compassion that requires openness to reach out in loving service; a simplicity that frees the heart, the mind and the soul; a humility that enables one to accept the giftedness of others, and the limitations of oneself; a trust rooted in faith and courage; a zeal that is a devotion and drive to fulfilling the church’s mission.”
