Dear Xavier Families,
As we move through March, we have a few important reminders and exciting updates to share with you.
No School on Friday, March 14 & Monday, March 17 A well-earned break is coming up for our students! As a reminder, there will be no school on Friday, March 14, in honor of the Bishop’s Holiday—a gift from Father Peter Langevin at the conclusion of the Opening of School Mass. Additionally, there will be no school on Monday, March 17. We hope our students enjoy the long weekend and come back refreshed for the final stretch of the third marking period.
Third Marking Period Ends Friday, March 21 We’re quickly approaching the end of the third marking period, which will conclude on Friday, March 21. This is a great time for students to check in with teachers, stay on top of assignments, and finish the quarter strong.
33rd Annual Black & White Auction – March 22 The Home & School Association has been working tirelessly to ensure this year’s Black & White Auction is a first-class event, and we’re just over a week away! Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 22—an evening of community, fun, and generosity. I can’t wait to see what’s in store and even cut a rug on the dance floor!
XBSS Retreat This week, six of our juniors—Matteo Barbaro, Will Hamre, Xavier Laudati, Patrick Manning, Billy McKenna, and Sean O’Sullivan—took part in the annual XBSS Retreat, accompanied by senior student leader Max Enes and adult leader Mr. Braychak. I’ve already spoken to a pair of attendees that are excited to bring back the things they learned to our community. Both students mentioned it was a life-changing experience. The experience, designed to deepen their understanding of the Xaverian mission, foster connections with students from other schools, and strengthen bonds within the XBSS Network, is an incredible opportunity for personal and spiritual growth. Hearing about our student experience constantly reminds me how proud I am of our students and their willingness and desire to fully immerse themselves in these experience and live a life of faith and service rooted in our Xaverian values.
Junior Retreat: “An Upperclassman’s Journey: Becoming a Leader” More than 60 members of the Class of 2026 are currently participating in their Junior Retreat, a significant milestone in their Xavier journey. This retreat marks the beginning of their transition into senior leadership roles within our school community. Framed around the theme “An Upperclassman’s Journey: Becoming a Leader,” the experience is centered on the Qualities of a Good Christian Leader and strengthening those qualities in our students. Facilitated by dedicated adult leaders and supported by senior Peer Ministers, this retreat is an essential step in shaping our young men into confident and faith-filled leaders.
As always, thank you for your continued support and partnership in our mission to shape men of character, faith, and service.
Thank you for your continued support of our Xavier community. Have a wonderful weekend!
