Xavier High School Parent Weekly Newsletter - March 21

Dear Xavier Families,

As we close out the third marking period, we find ourselves at a moment of transition both in the school year and in the season. The first signs of spring are beginning to emerge, a reminder of renewal and growth. The same can be said for our students, who continue to challenge themselves in the classroom, in their extracurriculars, and in their faith.

The Lenten season calls for reflection, sacrifice, and preparation. As we enter the final stretch of the academic year, our students are reminded that perseverance and commitment are key not just in their studies, but in their spiritual and personal growth. There is still work to be done, but just as spring promises new life, the lessons and efforts of these months will bear fruit in the months ahead.

This past Wednesday, a group of Xavier and Mercy students traveled to Saint Joseph’s Cathedral for a special Mass celebrating the Feast of Saint Joseph. It was a meaningful opportunity to come together in faith and honor the patron of the universal Church. Later that afternoon, the group visited the state capitol to take part in the Connecticut March for Life, standing as a testament to the values they hold dear.

On Thursday evening, the halls of Xavier were filled with energy and excitement as we welcomed more than 120 future Falcons for Class of 2029 Class Night. Next year’s freshman class is taking shape, and we are eager to welcome these young men into the Xavier brotherhood. The journey that awaits them is one filled with challenge, opportunity, and lifelong bonds just as it has been for those who have walked these halls before.

We are also looking forward to the 33rd Annual Black and White Auction hosted by the Xavier Home and School Association on Saturday evening. This event is always a special occasion for our community, bringing together parents, alumni, and friends in support of our students. We are grateful for all who have worked tirelessly to make this night a success and appreciate everyone who will be joining us.

As we move forward into this final stretch of the school year, let us continue to support our students in their academic and personal growth, encouraging them to finish strong and embrace the opportunities ahead.

Thank you for your continued support, and we wish you and your family a blessed Lenten season.
