Xavier High School Parent Weekly Newsletter - March 28

Dear Xavier Families,

We would like to extend a warm and enthusiastic welcome to the families who have recently submitted their deposit and officially joined the Xavier community. We are thrilled to welcome your son as a future member of the Class of 2029. This is the first of many weekly newsletters you will receive, and we are so glad you are now part of the Xavier family. The years ahead will be filled with growth, purpose, and unforgettable moments for your son and your entire family. We look forward to being a part of that journey.

On Wednesday, our entire junior class took the SAT during the school day. We are proud of the effort they brought to this important step in the college planning process. As always, we remain committed to guiding our students as they prepare for their futures both in and beyond the classroom.

In addition to taking the SAT, our juniors also participated in a new College Essay Writing Week led by our English teachers and school counselors. This initiative gave students dedicated time and support to begin crafting their personal statements for college applications. Through workshops, brainstorming sessions, and one-on-one feedback, the Class of 2026 took meaningful steps toward shaping their unique stories. We are grateful to our faculty and staff for creating this opportunity to help our students prepare for the next chapter of their academic journey.

Next week is Spirit Week at Xavier. It is a time filled with fun and Falcon pride as our students take part in themed dress days, activities, and events that celebrate who we are as a school community. These traditions build memories and strengthen the bond our students share with one another and with the school. We encourage everyone to participate and enjoy the week ahead.

A reminder that third marking period report cards will be available to view online this evening at 6 o’clock. We encourage you to review your son’s academic progress and reach out to his teachers, school counselor, or any administrator if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you for your continued support of our mission. We are grateful to partner with you in helping form young men of character, faith, and service.

Please see the following message from the Alumni & Development Team:

We would like to thank all the parents that have responded to the appeal letter that went out in February to support Xavier’s Annual Fund Drive.

Prior to that mailing, we were at 6% participation. I am happy to announce that we are now at 33%! One hundred sixty-nine of our 517 Xavier families have contributed. It’s a dramatic increase since January but there is still some work to do to reach our participation goal of 60%.

We urge those of you who have yet to support the AFD to do so to the best of your ability before June 30, the end of fiscal year 2024-2025. Reaching the 60% participation rate will help Xavier High School to better position itself to receive grants from foundations and corporations. A donation from you may be the one that gets Xavier to 60% and qualifies this outstanding high school to receive a grant of $50,000 or $100,000! Gifts received to date range from $5,000 to $10, so no gift is too large or too small. Every donation immediately increases the participation rate which is our primary goal this year.

There will be one more mail appeal to current parents to support the AFD in April. You can also go on the XHS website to make your contribution now.

We look forward to reporting soon that we have reached the 60% participation goal.

Follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to stay up to date on all things Xavier.

Have a great weekend.

God Bless.
